He previously founded The Waves, an e-commerce site that enhances the shopping experience for organically farmed wines. For nearly a decade at Amazon, he led teams in category management, technology, data science, and product development. Earlier, Gaurav worked as a management consultant at Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) and worked at Mars Inc.
Gaurav holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Technology in India, a dual masters in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Penn State and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He began his career at Bell Labs (now Nokia) where his advanced research in telecom and internet systems resulted in over 25 US and international patents. In 2025, he co-founded VerdictHub.ai, an AI research platform for the legal industry. Previously, he served as VP, Product, at Nordstrom, responsible for the digital and store customer experience. He has also held senior roles at Comcast, Altice and Expedia.
Swarup has a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) degree in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in India, a Sc.M. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University and MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
